Marble columns at Persepolis

The picture below is from Shushan and shows the top of a column. This column with its double sided bulls supported a cedar wood roof at the palace. It is thought there were thirty six such columns at the palace in Shushan. The image below is from the Levoure museum in France.

The image below shows the base of a column from Shushan (it is currently located in the Louvre muesuem in France). It inscription in three languages reads in part - “I, Darius, the Great King, King of kings.”
