וַתְּלַקֵּט בַּשָּׂדֶה אַחֲרֵי הַקֹּצְרִים

She gathered in the field after the harvesters

In the Torah their is a mitzvah of לקט and שכחה. The mitzvah of לקט means if one or two stalks of grain fall, a poor person may keep it. The mitzvah of שכחה is that any piles of grain "forgotten" in the field needs to be left for the poor.
